Thanks to Philosophy for Any Life I find myself not-too-unfrequently harkening back to stoicism throughout my everyday life when I think: "Well, that's out of my control. What am I going to do about? Best not waste effort worrying about it" (This principle sometimes gets taken to the extreme between Frank and Claire Underwood, for all you House of Cards fans out there). I admire the Great Marcus Aurelius, and appreciate the moral queries of Socrates and the like, but I'm most fond of the author's chapters on his own personal battle with mental health, and the lessons he hopes his readers can gleam from the battle within the mind, for the mind.

Zach's writing is fluid, conversational, and chipper, especially when he reimagines dialogue between some familiar philosophical thinkers. His writing allows you to feel like a companion is by your side as you embark on what may be your first foray into practical philosophy .

I'm sorry but I find the way this person writes much too accusatory rather than encouraging. His writing takes on a personal quality as if he knows the reader personally which I find a turn off. His claims most of the time seem bogus and out landish as if he can use his personal experience as a means of generalizing rather than taking what he has learned philosophically and using the general principles as a tool for teaching. He may assume this is what he is doing and to give him the benefit of the doubt sometimes he does but for the most part I find his wisdom and way of instructing off putting. I could not finish the book and lament paying for it when I could have gotten it for free.

I've never been one to love philosophy, but within the three consecutive hours during which I read Zachary's entire book, my options about this once dry, unappealing field had completely changed. Zach has beautifully crafted this text to engage his readers (both young and old), and encourages his audience to ponder the many curiosities that make philosophy an applicable and relevant field in our day-to-day lives. Whoever said philosophy wasn't fun clearly has not read Zachary's book yet because, truth-be-told, I had tears streaming down my face by page three.

About the Author

Noah Charney is an art historian by training and is the founding director of the Association for Research into Crimes against Art (ARCA), a non-profit think tank and consultancy group on art crime prevention and solution. He has been written about internationally, including feature articles in the New York Times Magazine, Italy's Ventiquattro, Time Magazine, and has made appearances on National Public Radio, MSNBC, CNBC and ITV television, and many other news outlets. His novel, The Art Thief, was published in 2007 and has sold in sixteen other languages to date.

Towards New Light And Knowledge

As a child, I believed in benevolent beings from outer space and friendly gnomes and fairies. My imagination probably weighed more than my body did as I invented games, activities and practices where I could feel closer to these entities. For example, I had a favorite tree to climb and being up there among the branches was akin to being back among the stars in the Milky Way. On warm summer nights while laying outdoors on the lawn, I both feared and enjoyed the feeling that I was being lifted up, outside of gravity. Something my dad thought was just a gopher hole was to me the entrance to where the Hobbits lived and I used to put the garden hose into it--just to make sure that there was enough water in their river. I invented elixirs from marigold and nasturtium flower petals. I lived in a world of real magic--when I wasn't just being a normal kid, going to school, reading books, playing soccer.

Then, in the college years, the marriage years, the raising children years happened. And much of the magic went away.

When I discovered OPENING TO LIGHT LANGUAGE, the magic came back. I think that Ms. Price has a wide open ear and is able to listen to wisdom that comes from realms most humans cannot see, and if they even know about them, they are unable to find it in themselves to trust that they exist. When Price wrote about the way she came to understand this new language and how it manifested in her body, I was enchanted--and even a little jealous.

This book promises a good read, and a lot of magic! I am grateful it exists in this weary world and I believe that it will be a placeholder for all of humanity to know more truth about their existence and purpose in this Earth realm.

The science behind "You must become as a child to enter"

This is a difficult subject to talk about since Light Language is not linear but holographic and sensory. You can't really interpret it because it is energetic and the words are incomprehensible to our surface thought forms. BUT, with Jayme's scientific mind, she does an incredible job of inviting us to play with it, open up to our other senses and start integrated it into our everyday lives.

Written simply, eloquently yet concisely, it was so pleasurable to read. I felt comfortable with the material throughout the whole book even though it was somewhat new to me and I liked the very informative way it was written. Her explanations were concise and I felt she is very dedicated to teaching it with integrity so that anyone wanting to learn or experience it can do so more easily. She covers a lot of ground. I really loved it. I don't know the author and had never heard of he prior to reading it.
