About the Author
WARREN MURPHY was born in Jersey City, where he worked in journalism and politics until launching the Destroyer series with Richard Sapir in 1971. A screenwriter (Lethal Weapon II, The Eiger Sanction) as well as a novelist, Murphy’s work has won a dozen national awards, including multiple Edgars and Shamuses. He has lectured at many colleges and universities, and is currently offering writing lessons at his website, WarrenMurphy.com. A Korean War veteran, some of Murphy’s hobbies include golf, mathematics, opera, and investing. He has served on the board of the Mystery Writers of America, and has been a member of the Screenwriters Guild, the Private Eye Writers of America, the International Association of Crime Writers, and the American Crime Writers League. He has five children: Deirdre, Megan, Brian, Ardath, and Devin.

Family and Honor

Somewhat unusual in that Stone and Freya have each a storyline dealing with family. Remo Williams is their father with different women.

Great is back in her homeland, a chain of islands north of Scotland, participating in a ceremony that would restore her mother's honor. Stone wants to find his mother and is somewhat disappointed at what he finds.

A story of family and honor.

Keep 'Em Coming...

So, #5 in this evolving series now sits on my Kindle. A long time fan of the original Destroyer Series I'm still getting to grips with this new generation. My personal benchmark for this series so far is #2 The Killing Fields. This one still doesn't hit that for me but interestingly I'm starting to get a real feel for this evolving universe that Warren and Gerald are creating. This was a pretty darn good addition to the series. More background on Stone, although my wish for the guy to toss the cigs and centre hasn't happened yet, so my irritation with that will have to continue, but not for too long please guys. Freya's storyline I found the most compelling. Thank goodness she's back to her old self. Wandering around for nearly two novels like a chicken with a broken wing was starting to do my head in. I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to #6. Bring it on guys.

Lots of knowledge is contained in tis book. You should have a little experience with basic physics, especially waves and electricity. This is not a book for dummies. The author keeps the information flowing and keeps explanation as brief as possible. This is a good thing due to the sheer scope of the knowledge presented.
