No morals and a terrible story structure.

I love this series. I read it when I was a child and the characters still make me really happy and I'm always happy to see new titles released. That being said, this is the worst Mr. Men or Little Miss book I have ever read. I can't even begin to think what Alice Downes thinks she is teaching children about morals or even the basic structure of story telling. The beast, drawn adorably, is constantly shunned by Miss Splendid no matter how nice he is to her. Everybody else likes the beast and hangs out with him. Miss Splendid only answers to his professions of love when he is revealed, inexplicably, to be Mr. Perfect. And everyone is OK with her being shallow. Those aspects makes this story practically unreadable and disjointed. There's no reason for Mr. Perfect to have been the beast, no story-driven reason for him to have been cursed and no bad consequences for bad behavior. In fact, Miss Splendid experiences positive consequences for her bad behavior. Don't let Alice Downes write any more for this series. So disappointing.

I got this book for my grand niece and she enjoyed it immensely. Little Miss Splendid is Little Miss Full of Herself which my grand niece found very entertaining.
